WORKSHOPS
OTR organized 10 weeks of workshops for 6 local artists of various artforms to train 6 housing communities in their craft. From painting to film to sound-art, residents experimented with ways of sharing their truths.
The communities benefited from learning new skills while the broader community found new ways to connect with their marginalized neighbors.
“As an emerging and uninitiated writer, TURF gave me a voice thus unleashing the depth of my grief and sorrow.”
– Marie-Christine, TURF participant
Installation
The project culminated with a purpose-built traveling replica of a public housing unit installed in the streets of Balmain and Surry Hills.
